Across the country, there has been an increase in the use of Tactical Emergency Medical Support (TEMS), which staffs paramedics on local police agency Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams. These TEMS medics train and respond with local SWAT teams and provide an immediate resource for traumas that occur during SWAT operations.
